Part of a large-scale CGI project recreating the tomb of Tutankhamun, combining historical research and detailed 3D asset production for cinematic film and immersive VR experiences.
I was responsible for recreating the treasures and artifacts Howard Carter discovered in 1922, translating archival references into historically accurate 3D assets. Working closely with the art director, I built each model with an emphasis on historical fidelity, material detail, and visual authenticity.
I handled the full asset pipeline, from research, modeling and sculpting through UV mapping, UDIM workflows and texturing, to optimization for both film and real-time VR. The challenge was balancing intricate surface detail and historical accuracy with the demands of high-quality cinematic rendering and real-time performance.
