Peacock Mosaic

A procedural material study inspired by Roman mosaics and the colourful decorative patterns found in traditional Rajasthani art. The goal was to recreate the look and feel of handmade mosaics using a flexible procedural workflow in Substance Designer.

The material is fully adjustable through exposed parameters in Substance Designer, allowing different aspects of the surface to be changed without having to rebuild the graph. These include the level of wear, grout thickness and definition, and surface erosion, making it easy to create a range of variations from a single material.

The project consists of two assets: a peacock mosaic as the main hero material and a decorative mosaic trim sheet. Both were designed for reuse in modular real-time environments, combining traditional artistic influences with the flexibility and efficiency of procedural material creation.
